About 15 billion US dollars were invested in the AI research and development in the year 2017. Out of that, 48% went to the People’s Republic of China and 38% to the land of United States. The USA secured a total of 77% in 2013 and had way more start-ups back then. China is striking more deals at the moment and there are almost 1000 to 1100 new start-ups that emerged last year. These emerging start-ups are making it harder to get more funds. Research shows that US government is not doing much to save its own AI industry which is a good sign for China in the coming years.
