Almost all of the top Xiaomi phones have a pretty good battery backup. Most of them are equipped with 3000mAh to 4000mAh battery and offers fast charging as well.

In the battery testing phase, Xiaomi Redmi S2 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro are the real winners followed by Xiaomi Mi 8 SE and Xiaomi Mi 8 which are recently launched.

The runner-ups have more RAM, better chipsets and SuperAmoled display which means they consume a bit more energy hence a low battery score.

Best Chipset in Xiaomi mobile:

Qualcomm Snapdragons are the dominant processors if we keep Apple chips aside. Almost all of the Xiaomi models are packed with Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets. We have seen the strongest chipset (Qualcomm Snapdragon 845) in the top smartphones like Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus (Review), LG G7 ThinQ (Review), HTC U12+ (Review). Nokia 8 Sirocco (Review) use the same chipset but a lower model (Qualcomm Snapdragon 835).

All of the Xiaomi phones come with Adreno GPU which is a better option compared to Mali GPU’s keeping higher end Mali GPU’s aside. Huawei Nova 3 and 3i (Review) use a higher-end Mali GPUs.

Adreno has higher Graphics IOPS (per second) and it is included in Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC’s while Mali is paired with MediaTek chipset. There is a big structural and architectural difference between an SoC and Chipset.

The Nand memory used in Mali is often of lower speed which indeed delays G-Iops irrespective of GPU’s clock speed.

The highest rating we reviewed was in Xiaomi Mi 8 (Snapdragon 845) followed by Xiaomi Mi 8 SE (Snapdragon 710) and Xiaomi Mi A2 (Snapdragon 660).

Best Screen in Xiaomi phone:

Most of the Xiaomi models have average screens. They are not super bright and sun-readability is just okay. You cannot expect a PPI ratio and brightness nits equal to an Apple iPhone 8 (Review). Their pricing strategy is very competitive, unlike other Chinese brands so we need to cut them some slack.

Xiaomi Mi 8 SE and Xiaomi Mi 8 are the latest models which feature Super AMOLED display (2244 x 1080) at 423 and 402 ppi respectively whereas the rest of the models have IPS LCDs. The display won’t be super great in them due to a bigger screen and lower PPI ratios.

Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Xiaomi Redmi S2 comes at the lowest ranking with only 720p resolution with 282 and 269 ppi respectively. Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite comes at the top with 5.84 inch IPS LCD at 432ppi followed by Xiaomi Mi 8 SE.

Best budgeted Xiaomi phone:

With a cheap price, you will get a cheap spec mobile but we will balance it out for you. At only 200 Euro, you can have Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite which is our winner here. Reasons? You will get an aluminum body 5.84″ IPS LCD display with dual cameras, 4000mAh battery and stock android.

The runner-up is Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro with 5.99″ IPS LCD, dual cameras, 4/6GB and a 4000mAh. Luckily both of these smartphones come with microSD slot and 3.5mm headphone jack.

MiUi vs stock Android:

We recommend you not to go with an Android version underneath MiUi. We have observed multiple problems with MiUi and it is specially made for the Asian market so if you are an android fan then better go for the stock android which is present in Xiaomi Mi A2 and Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite which are definitely the winners here.
